About Us

The Alpert family has been involved in retail home furnishings since 1962 when Dave Alpert opened a mattress store in Canoga Park. Dave Alpert along with sons Rick and Joe worked hard to grow the company over the years and eventually served Southern California with four full line furniture stores. Dave Alpert retired in 2005 and Joe decided to pursue other interests. Currently Alpert's is owned and operated by Rick Alpert who decided to focus exclusively on furniture for children. Rick said that "There seemed to be a lot of furniture stores for babies but as the kids get older, the selection was limited to small departments inside furniture stores". Rick continued that "I wanted to create a store with a fun enviroment for kids, with a great selection of furniture that give parents lots of options for sizing and colors". The end result was Alperts Kidz Interiors with Southern California's largest selection in all styles and price ranges including multiple sleep, study and storage options. "We get thanked all the time from customers who tell us that they just could not find the type of product we offer anywhere else" Rick said. He continued "While we sell some imported furniture, what our customers most appreciate is our specialization in U.S.A. made furniture for the high quality, safety and the flexabilty to get exactly what the customer needs for their child's room".
